Back in the 1800’s there was a family by the name of Wood that started their homestead in the Oregon Territory. After they built their first home one of the brothers died and his cabin burned down the same year. After that his brother built another home that was much larger than the first. He later met and courted his would be wife they had three children. Two daughters and one son after the girls were grown they married and left the homestead. The Woods family was really from New York but settled in Oregon and enjoyed the rest of their life their as a family.
