Homemade Yeast Rolls

If you like fresh bake yeast rolls but don’t like the trouble and time it takes to make them this is a great recipe for you. These are great tasting rolls and they are easy and quick to make.

 You will need:

2 cups of lukewarm water

1 pkg. dry yeast

¼ cup sugar

Mix all of the above ingredients together and set aside to rise until it bubbles.

 Next you will need:

¾ cup margarine, melted

1 egg

4 cups self-rising flour

Mix these ingredients well in the water mixture. Spoon the dough into well greased muffin pans. Let them set and rise 15 to 20 minutes. Brush the tops with margarine. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

You can cover the rest of the dough in a tight container and refrigerate until ready to use. They will keep for several days. Just remove from refrigerator and spoon into pans let rise and cook just like when you first made them up.

I use this recipe all the time because it doesn’t take but maybe an hour total time to make up let set and cook. If you are having a cookout there isn’t anything better than to smell fresh yeast rolls coming out of the oven piping hot to serve with it. After they are baked if desired you can add a little more butter on the top. For breakfast open a jar of fresh homemade jelly and your family will never want to leave home without their breakfast.
