Fine Wines

Wine has been made for many years. It takes a lot of work to make great wine. The vintages have to hand gather all the grapes for making the wine. Most wines sold are 2 years old or older. Some of the best vintages are in Chile and Africa these countries grow some of the best tasting grapes that are grown. The grapes have to be made into wine the same year they are gathered. The quality of the wine depends on the weather. If the weather is cooler and they have a poor growing season the wine is not as good. This is because the grapes are not as sweet therefore it takes more sugar to make the wine. If the weather is warm and the growing season is a real good growing year the grapes are sweeter. On these years the wine is better because there is more natural sweetening and less added sugars.

The vintages have tasters that sample all the wine made to be sure it is up to standards. There is a vintage called French Scout that is a really great vintage. They get there ratings from the tasters. Therefore the vintages have to keep professional tasters to sample their wine. This is an important process in the wine making process.

Sometimes the vintage charts can be misleading this is due to that some people like red wine better than white. And some like a sweeter wine than another. So everyone has to make their own decision on what they like the best.
