Chores
are always a dreaded thing for the children. But there are things you can do to
make it better. The younger you start giving them chores the easier it is to
get them done with less hassle. When a child gets old enough to take their toys
out of the toy box they are old enough to put them back into the box. This may
not seem like a chore to the child but it will help the parent in the long
term. You can make a game out of putting them up this will make it more fun for
the child but gets the toys put up at the same time. Another
thing that can be done to make the chores more fun if you have more than one
child is to set a timer and have them race to see who can get their chores done
before the timer goes off. If you need the house tided up in a hurry try
playing the ten pick-up game with them have them see who can pick up and put
the first ten items in their place where they belong. Be a good
leader if you pick up and put things up after you use them the children will be
more likely to do the same. Let them take turns for the chores like setting the
table are helping you in the kitchen preparing the meal. A good rule though is
not to ask your children to do a chore that you will not do yourself. |
