The basics of baking are not hard instructions to follow. If you are baking loaf bread for instance and it calls for two cups of flour do not dip the cup into the flour container use a spoon and spoon the flour into the cup. Then smooth it off with a straight object. This way you get the measurement correct. If you dip the flour it will pack and you will have more than the recipe calls for. It depends on what kind of baking you are doing as to what bake ware you need. For cakes a non stick pan works the best. You will still need to grease and dust it with flour. If baking casseroles the glassware works great, they can be used for the cooking then just transferred to the table. After the meal they can be refrigerated for easy warm ups for another time. Something many have not thought of is you can even bake in your crock pot. All you need is a metal can that will fit into it. If you do not have a lid you can cover it with two paper towels. This works well if you don’t have the time to stay and watch it for the full baking time. Do not open the lid until it is almost done this will let heat that is needed for the cooking escape. Most people have all the basics in their cupboard for basic baking. Like flour, sugar, flavoring, for breads and cakes.
