Making S'Mores can be Fun

Did you know the first s'mores recipe was found in the 1927 Girl Scout Handbook? We have them to thank for this tasty, gooey, fun to make treat that has children and adults both craving its unique taste. Who would have thought this popular treat would be so easy to make? In the traditional recipe the only ingredients are marshmallows, chocolate bars, and graham crackers. Since the snack is such a hit, these items can be easily found in the same isle of the grocery store for your convenience. With such an easy process, this is a snack that can highlight the day of any youngster this summer.

The most important part of making the snack is to be prepared. Before beginning, ensure the graham crackers are broken in half, the chocolate bars are placed on top of them and they are waiting very closely nearby. Melt the marshmallows until they are lightly browned. As the color changes, the marshmallow is warming up and softens in the inside and becomes gooey on the outside. At that point, place the warmed marshmallow on top of the chocolate graham cracker and place another on top. Squeeze together and the chocolate melts instantly. Eat and enjoy! It's just that simple.

To perfect this method may take a couple of tries. It is essential to ensure the marshmallow is melted just enough so it is not burned. Once you get the hang of it, try adding on some of your personal favorites like peanut butter or caramel. You can be creative as you like as long as you have fun eating them.
